In conclusion, heavy metal music draws much of its inspiration from different religious ideologies. Both good and evil forces are seen in metal lyrics, album covers, and music videos. However, the great majority of these religious themes deal with non-traditional or otherwise immoral religions. The ideologies that contribute the most to the characteristic heavy metal image include Satanism, Paganism, and Occult Mysticism. These religions supply metal with images of death, destruction, mystical beings, and powerful gods. Traditional religions hold only a small place in the genre, considering their morally righteous messages are incompatible with most characteristic metal themes. Some religious individuals do participate in the heavy metal subculture, but they must keep an open mind about the religious implications present in the music. After much observation, one can conclude that in heavy metal music, evil definitely prevails.
